The lattice backs over upholstered seats covered in associated floral tapestries.
Raised on square, canted front legs with blind fretwork and pierced spandrels.
H stretcher bars and swept back legs.
Some wear and fading to the the tapestries.
English circa 1770
Chair with an identical splat dated 1760 is illustrated in G.Beard & J. Goodison English Furniture 1500-1840, fig.3 p.128. And similar designs appear in Thomas Chippendale's three editions of 'The Gentleman and Cabinet Maker's Director' (1754-1762).
